Yesterday’s picks:

– literally nothing

Blimey, it’s feast or famine these days isn’t it. So I’ll start with the 2:40 at Down Royal where two of the background algorithms may provide some answers. Now When or Never is 4/1 but looks to be the best of these on form with a 113 on LR (he won) and a good jockey rating with 6-0 on RTB vs RTL. His main competitor on numbers might be Gevrey who is a place option as he’s not really trusted to win.

Unforgiving Minute hasn’t been seen since March last year, so it’s with a pinch of hesitation and a dollop of doubt that we’d take him – however, throughout his career, he’s done well on reappearance, and just look at his statistics on the racecard. 11 from 14 at this level with a 50% win rate at Lingfield (this is the 1:30, I forgot to mention). I’d hesitate because of the age now, but if he can retain that ability (there’s no reason to doubt him on last year’s form), then he’s more than a match for the favourite Ostilio. Juan Les Pins is the better alternative who appears to be running into some form.

Finally, a class 6 event should see Sanaadh return to winning form at 5:30 tonight. Hollie Doyle takes the ride and whether the price is too short or not doesn’t really matter, this looks like a horse riding into a bit of form at a higher level and being tested out at a much lower level than usual. You could say the same about Firmament, but progression is with the former.

Over to you now!
