SHALL WE START WITH YESTERDAY’S RESULTS? Ohhh go on, then, twist my arm, if that’s what you really want.

  • Swiss Pride – 1st
  • Claretina – 1st
  • Big Meeting – 1st, Menai Bridge – 2nd (placed at 15/2)

Boom, and if I may, boom.

Anyway, we move on. Tuesday’s racing looks a little like this.

The race of the day is obviously the Biffa Area One Handicap in its traditional spot at 6:45 at Beverley. I just know all the suits will be pissed out of their faces fighting each other to get a bet on Tangled, a horse that’s won twice here, comes top-rated, top-speed, most suited and from a yard that’s absolutely bang in form. Crucially, his mark has gone three pounds down on last time out and 5lb lower than since he last won a race, so back at his fave track, he’s great value at 4/1.

In the 1:45, do take care here because the ratings haven’t calculated Miss Brazen’s flop yesterday 2nd time out and she may not even run anyway. So Mazyuna is the pick and actually beat Miss Brazen on rankscore. We do know that she rates well on stallion as well as jockey and trainer, and that her debut was a good 2nd at Ripon where she was keeping on after clearly learning her business halfway through. 2/1 is ample.

It’s been a while since Big Time Maybe got into the wins, but with the mark slipping recently, he upped his game at Brighton to come a very close fourth. A repeat of that effort, or any improvement on it, should see him nudged into the places in the 6:23 at Brighton this evening. He’s not at all incapable of winning, and this is one of his favoured tracks, so conditions to suit and all that.

And in the 7:23 at Brighton, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see further improvement from Spanish Mane who improved for third last time out and ought to put in another strong showing here. This one loves good to firm ground with most of his wins coming on this going, and if the form arcs in this direction any further, at the very least a place is on the cards. Current price is around 9/2.

OK, hoping for another 100%er so I’ll leave it there. Lol. Over to you.
