StatRankOR System – Statistically Likely Horses

An experimental system for the new flat season, which looks at all codes, specifically for horses with the following attributes:

  • In good form
  • Well-ranked all-round
  • Good statistics (from C&D, direction, going, etc.)
  • Running off a good mark

Key:

ORvLR: Official Rating movement since last race

ORvLW: Official Rating movement since last win

Rankscore: The addition of all % points for all ranking positions (e.g. 5th of 10 in speed ratings is 50% = 0.5). As there are 9 ratings, the maximum RankScore is 9 – anything above 6 is good.

LR: Last Race form viewed as a percentage (5th of 10 would be 50%, 1st of 10 would be 100%)

2LR: 2nd Last Race, as above

3LR: 3rd Last Race, as above

S: Speed Ratings, as above

J: Jockey Ratings, viewed as a percentage

T: Trainer Ratings, viewed as a percentage

Suit: Suitability Ratings, viewed as a percentage

Total Rank: Where the horse sits in the total rankings for this race, as a percentage
