Morning all. So wrapping up yesterday – Voodoo Doll lost but is no donkey, Makambe was worth waiting for and if we see Drumlee Sunset again, it might be worth backing, but it’s likely he’s gone back to bed for another 100 days.

So yesterday’s donkey nearly went and won but let’s persist and in the 1:15 at Southwell, a not-very-donkeyish last-time-out winner in Torrent Des Mottes who takes on a further 7lb for that victory and is taken to return to losing ways. The current price is a little high, but indicative of what the market thinks of that penalty and his potential return to losing ways.

4:40 at Kempton then, and 15/2 against a horse that suddenly benefits from Hollie Doyle? Well, butter my muffins. Henry Croft isn’t your most winningy type of horse, but at this level – which horse is? He drops back in class to something more suitable, and if you look at the form of the other horses, nothing else jumps out so form ain’t going to win it. A place chance, potentially more.

In the 7:30 at Dundalk, one for the in-running betting perhaps as Beleaguerment is quite wide and you’d have to see how he gets away – but he’s a C&D winner who’s run into a bit of form and those drawn on the inside are kind of out-of-sorts in comparison. Probably, at 6/1, one for the place money again. Palabres is the other all-weather algorithm pick in this race, and the progression from 2LR to LR is significant – he rates well on trainer ratings, and is handily drawn, and in the context of those drawn on that side – he’s perhaps your best option at 10/1.

So the rest is up to you today – enjoy the nice weather while it lasts
