Shesadabber, then. 8:55 at Hamilton and 5/1 for a horse that is 4/1 below her last winning mark which was right here at Hamilton. Admittedly, last year was a bit shite, but the reappearance run recently where we backed her for a place was just fine – a couple of lengths down – and perhaps she needed it. She’s on a good mark and wins 1 in 3 of her races here at Hamilton, so odds of 5/1 are pretty generous.
3:15 at Newbury and you have Falling Shadow at 13/8 because he ran very well last time out on the all-weather at Wolvo, but Zabeir comes here with a debut 2nd at Newbury itself over a mile, and at odds of around 2/1, he looks to be the more reliable option between the two even though the favourite’s potential is undoubted. He did of course get disqualified for a ‘banned substance’ so he’s a bit of a doper, huh? Anyway, turf experience will benefit our pick.
4:55 at Kilbeggan, and Daisy Dufresne may be short at 11/8 but has shown enough progression over the last three races to merit a mention here. Form is sufficiently ahead of the rest with an 80+ in the LR column, and this being a much easier race (in theory), we’re backing her largely because she’s Gordon Elliot’s mare. And the rest are rubbish.
And 6:45 at Hamilton, you have to look at the RTH Selection and top-rated horse Flying Moon who has won two of his four starts over C&D here and comes below his last winning weight and at a nice price of around 11/2 at time of writing. Now, yes, there are many with claims here, so place money might be safer – you could back almost any with a 60+ rating in the LR column, and rankscore tells you a story as the spread is quite even. But historic C&D record + low weight might just pull it for the RTH Selection.
Over to you now.
